---------------------------------------------------------- GILLING WEST VILLAGE HALL ADULT LEARNING CENTRE IN THE JOHN ROSS SUITE *COURSE LIST* Parish Council The Parish Council will be holding their Annual General Meeting in the John Ross Suite at 7pm on the 26th May, 2010. This will be followed by the Annual Parish Meeting, starting at 8pm Gilling West Parish Council is pleased to announce that our village is entered in the Rotary Clubs of Richmond and Wensleydale ‘BEST KEPT VILLAGE COMPETITION 2010’ Judging - first two weeks in July Winning prize is worth up to £400 * The object of the competition is to encourage villages possessing a real sense of community to improve their local environment by caring for buildings, clearing litter and promoting schemes to improve the general appearance of the area. We believe judges do not look for architectural merit or prettiness for its own sake, or even an abundance of flowers, but for villages which do the best with what they have got. Enthusiasm of villagers to keep gardens, verges, public areas, seats, monuments and village greens well maintained, shows care and concern to preserve the natural beauty of our environment.
