The Super Sporting Sunday went ahead today and was enjoyed by a fairly good crowd. The Dads beat the Lads at football for the first time at Anteforth. In the afternoon there were some very amusing moments in such contests as sack racing; ski double racing; egg catching and 'wellie' throwing. The afternoon concluded as usual with the duck race which would appear to been well supported with ticket sales.

NY Police Monthly Crime Report

19/06/2009

On the evening of Monday 15th June a resident in the Cutpurse Area of Richmond reported a male who he regarded to be suspicious canvassing for monthly donations to the Red Cross. While in this instance the male was found to be a genuine fundraiser the passing of personal banking details over the doorstep is not something that we would advocate, and we would recommend other methods of making donations to charities, either on line, by post or in person at relevant locations.
Red Cross fundraisers will continue to work in the DL10, DL11, DL8 and DL9 postcode areas from the 15th through to circa 20th June. Any concerns regarding doorstep callers should be reported to North Yorkshire Police on 0845 6060247 as soon as possible to enable an Officer to attend if available and check authenticity of the caller.
